Sierra de Tramontana, World Heritage Site
The Sierra de Tramontana is located southwest to northeast of the island of Palma de Mallorca. It has a length of 90 km and about 15 km of amplitude.
Since 2011, the landscape of the sierra has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Our Alfabia Nou complex is located in the heart of this exceptional spot. Surrounded by these mountains, we also enjoy the Wind of Tramontana. One of the regions in which it blows is Mallorca, generating a cold current and an intense blue sky.
The mountain range consists of roads, walls and dry stone constructions. Old hydraulic systems that have been kept in perfect condition.
Three large reservoirs complete the area. Cúber, Gorg Blau and Puig Major.
Tramontana and Alfabia Nou
From Alfabia nou, apart from enjoying a comfortable and pleasant stay, you can make excursions to these mountains, lakes, castles and towers among other activities.
Mallorca’s agrotourism is booming. The contact with nature, tranquility, silence, pure air and nights in the light of the stars, is what our customers miss in cities increasingly populated with pollution and technologies.
For this reason, Alfabia Nou offers a series of comfortable apartments, with all details and without losing the essence of the Sierra de Tramontana.
We are strategically located in the heart of the Sierra. Just 16 km from the center of Palma de Mallorca. With an excellent connection to the airport.
Within walking distance is the village of Sóller and 100 meters from Coll de Sóller, a mountain port of 497 meters.
